The trek takes you through dense forests along the Pushpawati River, with waterfalls, streams, and stunning views of over 520 species of plants. Best visited between mid-June and September, the valley’s changing colors and natural beauty attract trekkers, photographers, and nature lovers. Nearby, Hemkund Sahib, the highest Gurudwara at 4,328 meters, adds a spiritual touch to the journey, with Ghangharia serving as the base for the trek.

Day 1 : Rishikesh/Haridwar to Govindghat/Joshimath | Drive Distance: 255 km | Drive Duration: 11-12 hours

The journey begins with a pick-up from Rishikesh at 7:00 AM. Rishikesh is easily accessible from Delhi via trains and buses. The route will take you through Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers converge to form the Ganges, and other scenic Prayags, before reaching Joshimath/Govindghat by evening. After dropping off your bags at the hotel, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Garhwal Himalayas. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

After breakfast, drive 4 km to Poolna, then begin an easy ascent to Ghangaria. Enjoy a mid-way lunch along the way. Upon reaching Ghangaria, drop off your bags at the hotel, relax with evening tea and snacks, and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel.

Gear up for an exciting day as you head towards the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast, embark on a scenic walk through the valley, surrounded by a stunning variety of flowers that will rejuvenate you. After exploring and taking photos, enjoy a packed lunch before heading back to Ghangaria. Upon arrival, savor a delicious dinner and relax at the hotel, marking the completion of your trek.

After breakfast, trek to Hemkund Sahib, following an easy to moderate trail. Along the way, you’ll pass waterfalls, flowers, snow-capped mountains, and glaciers, all of which will leave you in awe. The cleanliness of the pilgrimage site is a notable feature, reflecting the values of the Sikh community. Arrive at the Gurudwara in the afternoon, where you can immerse yourself in its peaceful aura, take a dip in the glacial lake, and visit the nearby Lokpal Temple. Due to unpredictable weather, begin your descent back to Ghangaria before 2 p.m. Once you return, enjoy evening snacks and an early dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast, begin your descent to Govindghat, covering a 10 km stretch that usually takes around 4 hours. Once at Govindghat, drive to Joshimath. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and enjoy a hot lunch. Afterward, relax and unwind, followed by dinner and rest for the night.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Rishikesh, retracing the same route. You will arrive in Dehradun by 10 PM, giving you ample time to plan your onward journey.
